Digital downloads bring on savings for DIY home and office decor

Digital Downloads

I understand that not everyone is willing or able to purchase original art because of the $$ that commonly are attached, no matter how much you may love it; that is how digital downloads bring on savings for DIY home and office décor. It makes it possible to add some art into your life.

What is a digital download you ask? In a nutshell, it is usually a photo of an original that you can get immediately without waiting on someone to mail it to you. It is usually immediate and ready for you to use. The best part is mine are usually available below $5.00.

But I also recognize that there are many who do not know how to use the digital downloads once they have made the purchase. That is what I am hoping to help a bit with — a “how to” and to give you some ideas on all of the things you can create if you are a DIY kinda person. If I haven’t answered your basic questions, please feel free to send me a note for clarification – I would be glad to help (if I can).

Idea #1:  Art – framing / not framing

In most cases, when you have made a purchase of digital downloads you will have immediate access to it and be asked to download it; just click on the download button; it is a good idea that you save this on your computer for future use ( I usually make a folder to keep my downloads in – but that’s me, you don’t have to do this).  With my digital downloads I try to give you size options; usually 2-3 sizes that range from 5″ x 7″; 8″ x 10″ and 11″ x 17″. This save you the trouble of resizing and keeps the quality of the photo from being skewed by resizing.

I recommend printing on a nice quality paper, but if you don’t have it available it is ok to print on copy paper but change the printer options to “best” no matter what you are printing on.

After printing it is time to decide if you want to mat and frame it or simply frame it. In order to keep the quality photo be sure to use a frame with glass to protect the surface. I recommend taking the printed art with you when shopping for frames. Hobby Lobby and Michaels are both good places to get assistance with framing.
