Abstract floral paper quilled mosaic art
Abstract floral paper quilled mosaic art is a love of mine. Flowers are so beautiful but most are seen from the front or top angles; this is a depiction of the beauty of a flower from the back or underside. I used 1/4″ wide paper strips. The quilled shapes were adhered to a flat canvas that had been painted with acrylic so white would not show through.
Measurement: 4″ x 4″ plus a mini wood easel for displaying
This piece was inspired by Georgia O’Keeffe – Love the outcome of the color and shape.
Alternate ideas of displaying: It could make quite the statement as a wall hanging by matting and placing within a larger frame (not provided). My favorite way to hang a flat piece of art is to use a nice ribbon. cut it to size and glue both sides of the ribbon to the back corners of the art. Then, you can hang it on a nail. This is ideal for quilled art because it is lightweight.
Every paper quilled art piece is completely unique and can vary slightly in different color combinations.
All art is preserved with a UV protective acrylic spray sealant; It will help to prevent fading (avoid direct sunlight) and will look beautiful for years to come. The sealant also acts as a dust repellant and if you need to periodically clean your art, you can do so safely with a feather duster, a hair dryer (cool setting) or canned air. Although it is protected against moisture, it is not recommended for repeated uses in a room with high humidity such as a bathroom.
